Everyone has variety of interests and
skills and has different scheduling needs. So we've created
our
'class on demand' concept. It works
like this: below is a list of our standard classes. Check
it out and then click on the title if it's something you're
intrested in to fill out the 'class on demand' form. Once
we have three or more people we'll contact everyone to
agree on a date and time. Here goes...
A great beginning for new knitters.
You’ll learn the knit stitch, the purl stitch, how to
cast on and cast off, a little bit of pattern reading
and all you need to create some fabulous scarves that
you’ll be proud to wear. Three 2-hour classes. $60.00 +
GST.
If you've taken

Knitting or are returning to knitting after a
long lay-off, here's your chance to advance your
knitting skills. In this pick-a-project class, we'll
help you select an appropriate project(s) for your skill
level, and help you with techniques and pattern reading
as you work your way through. Five 2-hour classes. $120
+ GST.
Learn all
the ins and outs of sock knitting including turning the
heel and finishing the toe. Once you get started
knitting socks, you’ll be hooked!Prerequisites:
Intermediate knitting skills. You should be comfortable
with casting on/off, knit and purl.Three 2-hour classes.
$60.00 + GST.
Learn all sorts of tricks and
techniques to help you recover from knitting mistakes
and you get back on track. Bring your questions and any
knitting projects with problems. One 20-hour class. $20
+ GST.
Do you have an unfinished knitting
project waiting to be completed? Bring it to this class
and learn how to block each piece, finish the collar (or
what have you) and sew the seams into a beautiful
finished garment. One 20-hour class. $20 + GST.
K2tog, PSSO, SSK? What do all these
abbreviations mean? In this 2-hour workshop we’ll unlock
the mysteries of basic pattern reading. Topics covered
will include common abbreviations, reading charts, and
how to evaluate a pattern before you start knitting.
Anyone can learn to crochet! This
introductory workshop will teach you the basic skills
and stitches of the versatile art of crochet. Learn how
to read a basic pattern, how to choose suitable hooks
and yarn for your project and complete a scarf in just
two classes. No previous experience necessary. Two
2-hour classes. $40.00 + GST.
During this workshop you will learn how to
crochet in the round, how to follow a pattern and how to
create a variety of hats with only one simple pattern.
Do you prefer earflaps, pom poms, tassels or just a
plain beanie? You will learn all these skills in two
short classes and, most importantly, how to tailor a hat
to your taste. Two 2-hour classes. $40.00 + GST.
