Can you knit on the plane?
We get that question a lot at the shop, and the answer is, yes you can! Here's the proof from my recent vacation:
knittinginplane
I've travelled quite a bit over the last year--three or four times to the United States, once to Belize, and a couple of domestic flights-- and I have knitted my way through all of it. I've knitted while waiting to board a flight, while waiting on the plane for the flight to take off, through flight delays, and throughout the flights themselves. So ya...you can knit on the plane! The Canadian Air Transport and Security Authority says so and so does the Transportation Security Commission in the States.

Having said that, I have usually taken a sock project (because they are so portable) and have used wooden needles. No one has ever questioned it, and I have to say, several of the flight attendants have cheered me on. The attendant on this flight said she wanted to see "project completed before we reach our destination." How good is that?!?
